Jones Bros has come a long way since 1877, when Henry Jones and his wife Sarah founded Jones Bros Dairy in Stoney Lane,
in London's East End. They started off the Jones Bros delivery business with daily milk rounds and became well-known
in the capital for their friendly, personal service where nothing was too much trouble.
We are Jones Bros fourth generation dairymen and women, still delivering pints to Londoners more than 130 years on.
We now have depots across the East End, from which we deliver a wide range of quality fresh food products to offices and
other businesses across London. One thing remains the same and that’s our personal service, because you can't beat
good ol' fashioned service with a smile. We look forward to brightening your day with a Jones Bros fresh food delivery.
Born in Borth, Wales, he came to the City of London along with his wife Sarah and founded H. Jones Dairy in 1877, based in Jewry Street, EC3. He moved the dairy to Stoney Lane, E1 in 1898, during this time, the milk was still delivered in churns. Henry passed away in 1921, leaving Sarah to bring up their thirteen children.

Upon Sarah’s death, the business was divided up between her children and was later bought out by Dee, along with his brother Eric. Dee and Eric renamed the business Jones Brothers as it is still known today. Together, they evolved the business further, by installing their own bottling plant on the premises. Dee passed away in 1984.

Together they expanded the business even further, moving on from door step deliveries to servicing other large establishments in the city. Although keeping the premises in Middlesex Street, they expanded to new larger premises in East London to keep up with demand. Henry is still actively running the business today.
The middle of three children. As a young 13 year old, Trevor was sent out with his cart to do a local milk round at the crack of dawn before school, while all his classmates were probably still in bed! That wasn’t all, on return from school, he then worked in the Jones Brothers shop until 7pm. Trevor took the business on with Henry in 1989 and is still running it today.
Edgar mainly worked at his Father’s Dairy but was always being drafted in to help with the running of Jones Brothers during WW2 as he was too young to be conscripted into the army.
Like his sister, Henry came to work for the business straight from school and was always helping out whenever on school holiday. He began by helping out on the rounds with deliveries and is now responsible for the running of both East London depots.
The eldest of Henry and Cathy’s two children. Lucy worked for the business as a child and spent many a school holiday at the business. After leaving school, Lucy was working for Jones Brothers before her feet could even touch the ground. She was responsible for giving Jones Brothers an online presence and is involved in the day to day running of the office along with Cathy.
Stevie met Lucy in 2002 and came to Jones Brothers in 2010, bringing with him many years’ experience in London’s largest food markets. Although not a Jones he has moved the business on, with Lucy, from being a sole supplier of Dairy to expanding the range of produce, in particular our range of fresh fruit.
The newest addition to the business, Elsie is the first of Lucy and Stevie’s, born in November 2014. We have high hopes for this little one and if you are wondering why you can often hear a baby in the distance while on the phone to us, well now you know!
